I’ve never had
a desire to eat at a Mexican food cart here in Salem. Why would I? I can have
the food at home. This all changed after a fun-filled day at the Oregon State fair this summer. I was hungrier than a wolf, and anyone who’s ever been to the
fair can attest to the overpriced food.
Thanks to
Ali and Anwar, my partners in crime, we ended up at a food cart. An old school
bus turned food cart, “Taqueria La Michoacana” is hands-down the most unique
food cart I’d seen in town. I was hungry, it looked cool and it carried the
name of the Mexican state I was born in- I was game.
A husband
and wife duo ran “La Michoacana,” while their young daughter was glued to the
TV watching her beloved tevenovela (a Mexican soap opera). After what seemed like an endless amount of
time, finally, we chowed down our quesadillas.
The food was
OK. Would I go back? Probably not. Was I happy I tried it? Absolutely.
Voila! A pretty sweet looking food cart |
