Have you ever thought about the fact that you might be
living in a happy or sad country? Yes, folks, there is indeed a chart that
ranks the happiest and saddest countries on the planet.

I’ve read these types of articles before- at the top of the
list, a picture-perfect European nation overflowing with happiness. Yet, what
grabbed my attention were the particular measurements used to calculate
“happiness”. For once, economic progress wasn’t the main measurement. Instead-
life expectancy, happiness and environmental sustainability were accounted for.
The global happiness measurement comes from the Happy Planet Index. And the
happiest country is…drum roll
Costa Rica
Warm weather, sandy beaches- that’s all I need to be happy.
Well, and some chocolate wouldn’t hurt. On the flip side of things, Botswana is
feeling some major blues.
These types of articles provide a good giggle. I don’t take the results too seriously
because there are many flaws attached to determining results for this subject. Whichever country you live in, follow your own
index to what makes you happy.
